Sergeant Scott Garner
Sergeant Scott Garner has been with the Santa Cruz Police Department since 1997. Scott is currently assigned as the traffic sergeant. During his tenure with the department, Scott has had a number of assignments including patrol, downtown unit, traffic section, investigations and crime scene investigator. After promoting to sergeant, he has supervised patrol, the parks unit, the search and rescue dive team, the peer team and is the assistant OIC of the firearms team. Scott has been on the POA board for the past 4 years.
Officer Saul Rodriguez
Officer Saul Rodriguez has been working for the Santa Cruz Police Department since 2001. He has been assigned to various special units throughout his career. Officer Rodriguez is currently assigned to the K-9 unit with his k-9 partner “Lobo”. He is also a member of the Emergency Service Unit. Officer Rodriguez has been on the POA board for the past 4 years.
Jenna Wilson has been a community service officer (CSO) for the Santa Cruz police department since 2007. She is currently assigned to the Downtown unit and has worked in the Parks unit, Investigations, with the Gang Task Force and at the Records front counter. Prior to working for Santa Cruz, Jenna was a dispatcher for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department. She is proud to represent the un-sworn members of the department.
Officer Ken Deeg has been with the Santa Cruz Police Department since 1993. He started as a reserve officer and became a police officer in 1995. Ken is currently assigned to the community service section and facilitates our neighborhood watch programs as well as working with many other resources to resolve issues developing in our community. Ken has been a patrol officer, traffic officer and a detective. Ken is a welcomed new addition to the POA board
Officer Steve Pendleton is on his 3rd and final tour with the Santa Cruz Police Department. Steve has also worked for the Santa Clara Police Department and the Mountain View Police Department. Steve is currently assigned to the parks unit where he patrols 36 city parks, open spaces, levees and the beaches. Steve is an avid motorcycle and ATV enthusiasts who likes long walks through Pogonip Park. Steve has been on the POA board for a total of 4 years.
